Summer and skin care: How to fight against dryness and dehydration

How to always feel fresh during hot days

We love summer and warm days and enjoying the sun, but the older we get, the more aware we are of all the challenges that come with many people's favorite season. The days are longer, the temperatures are higher and we like to spend as much time as possible outdoors while doing different activities.

However, with the arrival of the summer months, several challenges related to skin care appear. We are often in the sun, we bathe in the sea or rivers, and all of this in combination affects our skin. That's why, during the summer months, many people worry about how to keep their skin constantly hydrated and not dry.

Also, during the summer, you can introduce into your routine that you drink a lot more water throughout the day and eat food that helps the skin retain hydration, so that it will be easier for you to survive very hot days. But what is it about when it comes to skin care routine, we bring you more below.

First step: Hydration from the inside

Yes, you see right, to begin with, the most important thing is to start with hydration from the inside. By this we mean the hydration of the body through the intake of water and food that will help you hydrate the body. Increase your water intake during the summer months as the heat and humidity can lead to increased water loss through sweating.

Every day throughout the day, try to drink at least eight glasses of water a day and include hydrating foods such as watermelon, cucumbers and citrus fruits in your diet. Maintaining daily hydration will not only benefit your skin but also your overall health.

Another reason why you need to take extra care of skin care during the day is that you sleep overnight and, of course, you don't take in as much liquid and food that would stimulate body hydration, so it's important to prepare your skin during the day.

Second step: Skin care with our products

In addition to all the above tips, you can always rely on our line of skin care products that are specially designed to keep the skin healthy and hydrated during the summer months. We recommend using tea tree essential oil, which can be diluted with base oil and massaged into the skin using our practical roller.

.

Tea tree essential oil is known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which makes it ideal for summer skin care, which can be more susceptible to impurities and irritation. Dilute a few drops of tea tree essential oil with a carrier oil such as jojoba oil or sweet almond oil, which are rich in vitamins and nutrients.

Then, use a facial roller and gently massage into the skin. The roller provides the added benefit of improving circulation, stimulating lymphatic drainage and helping to absorb the nutrients from the oil deep into the skin. This step can be especially helpful in the evening, before going to bed, when the skin is most able to absorb nutrients from skin care products.

Finally, don't forget that, in addition to using quality skin care products, your diet and lifestyle also play a key role in maintaining healthy and hydrated skin. Drink plenty of water, eat fresh fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins and antioxidants, and avoid excessive sun exposure.

To clean your face, choose products with a gentle and light structure

During the summer, it is very important to choose a gentle facial cleanser that will not remove the natural oils from your skin. Oils also help keep the skin nourished, so it's important not to use harsh products that will remove all your oils.

So, choose a mild, hydrating facial cleanser that effectively removes dirt, sweat and sun protection without drying out the skin. Likewise, during the summer, do not use strong scrubs or hot water on your face, as they can further dehydrate the skin. Instead, wash your face with lukewarm water and gently pat it dry with a soft towel.

By no means, but do not forget to use a cream with a protective factor

Protecting your skin from the sun is an essential step in your skin routine, whether it's summer or any other season. A cream with a protective factor not only protects the skin from harmful UV rays, but also prevents moisture loss.

Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and apply liberally to all exposed areas of the body, including the face, neck and hands. Reapply the cream every two hours or more often if you decide to refresh yourself in the sea or if you sweat a lot, all so that the skin is always protected from the sun's rays.

Hydration, hydration, hydration

In the fight against dryness, hydration is key. In her routine, she opts for a light, oil-free moisturizer specially formulated for summer use. In a moisturizing cream or gel, look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin that attract and retain moisture, keeping the skin hydrated throughout the day.

The moisturizing cream of your choice immediately after cleansing and don't forget to apply it to your neck and body so that every part of your body has enough hydration throughout the day. If necessary, you can refresh the skin during the day with thermal water sprays so that the skin is "nourished" again, and it is at least a little easier for you.

Peeling for skin renewal

Exfoliation is important for removing dead skin cells and promoting healthy, glowing skin. However, during the summer, it is best to opt for a gentler exfoliation that will not dry out your skin and will remove dead cells. For exfoliation, use a scrub or chemical peel containing AHA (alpha hydroxy acids) or BHA (beta hydroxy acids) to gently remove dead skin cells without causing irritation.

Exfoliate the skin once or twice a week to avoid excessive peeling and dehydration of the skin, and after exfoliation, apply all the products you use in your skincare routine and don't forget moisturizer and cream with a protective factor!

In addition to moisturizing the skin, it is also important to "hydrate" the space around you

Hot and dry air can further dehydrate the skin. In order to prevent this, it is a good idea to use a humidifier at home or in the office so that the space you stay in is not dry. Humidifying the space will prevent the skin from drying out and feeling tight.

You may be shocked when you read what we have written next, but try to limit the use of air conditioning because it can also contribute to drying out the skin. We understand that the days are so hot that sometimes you hardly have the strength to get out of bed and that the air conditioner literally saves you, but try to use it only in the most critical moments.

However, if you absolutely can't avoid using the air conditioner, try to always have a face spray in hand with which you will occasionally spray your face for a quick increase in hydration.

All these steps are very simple and do not take much time, and they bring so much good to your physical and mental state.
