We bring you tips for proper maintenance of your hairbrush

Regular cleaning of the products we use for personal care is essential for our health, and this includes the hairbrush. In this guide, you'll find all the steps for thoroughly cleaning the brush, to keep your hair healthy and beautiful.

We are aware of the importance of self-care, but we often overlook some less obvious aspects of it. One of them is maintaining the things we use every day, like hairbrushes.

Regular cleaning of the hairbrush is crucial for hair care. Neglecting this step can lead to:

Accumulation of Residues – Over time and daily use, various things accumulate on the brush. From hair product residues, natural oils, and almost everything around you. All this makes the brush less effective in detangling, styling, and similar tasks, everything for which it was originally purchased.

Bacteria and Germs – If they come into contact with a moist environment, hairbrushes can easily become a breeding ground for bacteria and germs, which is definitely not something any of us want. The combination of hair, dead skin cells, and moisture creates an ideal environment for the growth of harmful microorganisms.

But, to prevent this from becoming your problem, we reveal everything you need to know about maintaining hygiene so that our favorite detangling brushes are always the perfect helper in hair care.

Regularly cleaning the brush can remove potential health risks for your skin and hair. A clean brush not only prevents the re-transfer of impurities to the hair but also promotes its overall health. Old hair and product residues on the brush can lead to hair breakage and scalp problems. By keeping your brush clean, every stroke of the comb contributes to healthy, shiny, and beautiful hair.

How to properly and thoroughly clean a hairbrush?

Now that you know why you should clean your hairbrush, it's only fair that we reveal concrete tips on how to do it. Below, we bring you six simple and effective steps, thanks to which your Noelle hairbrushes will be as perfect as on the first day.

Step One: Check if You Have Everything You Need

Before you start, it will be helpful to have a comb for removing hair, a small cleaning brush, mild shampoo, and warm water.

Step Two: Remove All Hair from the Brush

Start cleaning by removing fallen and tangled hair strands. You can do this using a small comb that will allow you to pull out even the most tangled strand. Start from the top towards the base of the brush and gently loosen and pull out the hair. This way, the cleaning process will be much more efficient than trying to remove everything with your fingers.

Step Three: Leave the Brush in Warm Water with Shampoo

Fill a bowl, sink, or washbasin with warm water and add a small amount of mild shampoo. Put the brush in the water, but make sure it's completely submerged. Let the brush soak for about 15-20 minutes so that all product residues and other substances disappear.

Step Four: Cleaning with a Small Brush

After the brush has soaked in the water for some time, take a small cleaning brush (an old toothbrush can also be used) and scrub the entire brush. Scrubbing will remove all stubborn residues. Pay special attention to areas where the brush and handle meet, as these are common places for dirt accumulation.

Step Five: Thoroughly Rinse the Brush

After the brush has been thoroughly scrubbed, it needs to be thoroughly rinsed under running water to remove all the shampoo. Make sure everything is rinsed out well, as shampoo residues also count as harmful substances on the brush.

Step Six: The Brush Drying Process

Just as it is important to wash the brush well, it is equally important that it is well and thoroughly dried before reuse. Leave the brush to dry naturally, and do not dry it with a hair dryer or expose it to direct sunlight, as excessive heat can damage the bristles.

Your Hair Will Be Healthy and Shiny

To keep your Noelle detangling brush always clean, we recommend that you thoroughly and according to the given instructions clean it at least once a week. The frequency of cleaning may vary depending on how often you use hair products, but trust us, you won't regret having a clean brush at all times.

Try not to share your brush with others as much as possible. By sharing the brush, you can transfer bacteria and other harmful substances. If you still have to share it, be sure to clean it more often during the week.

You can also help yourself by investing in brushes that are easier to maintain. For example, our detangling brushes, which are incredibly easy to maintain. Plus, they have an ergonomic handle which makes the combing process much easier, not to mention that thanks to them, you will no longer have problems with tangled hair.

The best thing about cleaning a hairbrush is that it only takes a few minutes in the process, and you do so much good for yourself and your hair. If the brush is clean, the hair will be healthier, shinier, and simply better. To us, that sounds like a winning combination, and we believe it sounds the same to you.
