There is no need to talk much about the lemon, but surely there is much to be said for it. This citrus known far and wide grows in the Mediterranean, although, interestingly enough, it is not its natural habitat. At one point in time the lemon tree, which can grow easily in the wild and was native to India, moved to Europe. The lemon is a brisky and flamboyant globe trotter. It is most commonly used in the food industry, and long time ago was considered as an irreplaceable staple food due to its juice, high in vitamin C. However, the story of lemon essential oil is somewhat different, and excludes vitamin C and citric acid as main protagonists. But still fragrant though: crisp, citrusy, distinctively clean, uplifting.
Lemon peel essential oil features the best lemon properties. It is mood lifting, energizing, refreshing and inspiring. Just a few drops in the diffuser would do to purify the air. This oil will enhance your mental focus, clear your mind and eliminate brain fog. In air freshener sprays, it will act as a disinfectant and leave the air and surfaces refreshed and cleaned. Mixed into skin creams, lotions and balms, it will become an effective broken capillaries treatment, with a natural tonifying effect. A drop in your favorite shampoo will keep your hair and scalp healthy and nourished. Lemon essential oil is frisky, and requires caution – a product with lemon essential oil will make your skin extra sensitive to sunlight. So when using such product, it is strongly recommended to avoid going out in the sun for at least 12 hours.
